NPC Salt City Showdown At FitCon Utah
FitCon is proud to bring back our second annual NPC show! The NPC Salt City Showdown is the premier amateur bodybuilding and physique show in Utah. Our goal is to provide a new and exciting experience for our athletes. We will feature Men’s Bodybuilding, Physique, and Classic Physique, as well as Women’s Physique, Fitness, Figure, and Bikini divisions. NPC Salt City Showdown will create a unique experience with professional AV production, organization, and impressive swag for the competitors. Athletes will have the opportunity to showcase their hard-earned physiques on a professional stage at the best venue in the state of Utah, the Salt Palace.
All NPC competitors will receive one 2-day pass to FitCon Utah included in their registration fees. FItCon is filled with over 300 exhibitor booths, 30+ competitions, and 20+ seminars. It is the largest fitness event in Utah with over 30,000 attendees. The NPC Salt City Showdown will take place on the main stage at FitCon in Hall 3 of the Salt Palace.
*$125 per class & crossover. Late fee of $75 per class will occur starting 12:01 am on March 24th.

2018 NPC Salt City Showdown at FitCon Utah

Salt City Showdown is an NPC National Qualifier, Featuring: Men’s Divisions: Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, and Physique. Women’s Divisions: Fitness, Figure, Bikini & Physique Divisions. The Top Three athletes in Bodybuilding, Physique, Bikini and Figure, in each Open class, will qualify for any National Level NPC show for a period of one year, plus the year qualified. The Top Five in Open Figure, Bikini, Men’s and Women’s Physique qualify for Junior USA’s, Jr. Nationals, and North Americans. Fitness and Masters Competitors qualify for all National events, by virtue of competing in this show.
Registration for NPC Salt City Showdown: Cost per class is $125 and includes 2-Day FitCon Expo Pass. Please complete online registration form at https://fitcon.com/showdown/npc-registration/. Registration Deadline is 3/23/2018. A late fee of $75 per class will occur starting 12:01 am on March 24
Qualifications to compete: All athletes must have current NPC membership card. NPC membership for the year is $125.00 and can be purchased ahead of time with credit card at www.npcregistration.com. You can also purchase an NPC card at the athlete check in meeting with cash. Your card is valid for the 2018 calendar year only, no matter how many times you compete in NPC sanctioned events. Please note: this cost is separate than registration to compete at the Salt City Showdown.
Awards: Top Five placing in each class will receive awards. Overall Awards will be given for Open Bodybuilding, Open Classic Physique, Open Men’s Physique, Open Figure, Open Bikini, Open Fitness, and Open Women’s Physique divisions.
Check In Times: TBD – All NPC Women and Men at the Hyatt House Hotel, located at 140 300 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84101. Competitors will be weighed and/or height measured, assigned athlete numbers. Those who have not submitted posing music by this point will incur a fee AND/OR will be provided house music for posing. All Masters/Teen Competitors must be the appropriate age by April 6, 2018 in order to compete. Proof of age will be required with state issued driver’s license or a passport. Competitors will also receive NPC Salt City Showdown swag bags, FitCon Expo 2-Day pass, and have the opportunity to purchase show tickets, trainer/coach backstage pass, and professional stage photography.
Competitor Meeting – Saturday, April 7 at 9am at the Salt Palace in Hall 3 on the Main Stage. Please use Athlete Entrance located on West Side of Salt Palace (across from Vivant Smart Home arena) or outside of Hall 3 (near the Raddison hotel). Please remember to wear Athlete credentials every time you enter the venue to avoid inconvenience.
Pre-Judging starts Saturday, April 7 at 10am for NPC competitors. Order for pre-Judging: Women’s Fitness, Women’s Physique, Men’s Bodybuilding, Men’s Classic Physique, Men’s Physique, Women’s Figure, Women’s Bikini
IFBB Pro Pre-Judging at 12pm NPC Pre-judging will break and the IFBB Pro Divisions will go on stage. IFBB Pro Men’s Physique will go first, followed by IFBB Pro Bikini. NPC show will resume after IFBB Pro judging.
Finals/Evening Show starts Saturday, April 7 at 6pm. Doors open to the public at 5:30pm. VIP and Reserved seating tickets are available for purchase on www.showdown.fitconutah.com. (Please note: Entrance on 300 West will be the ONLY entrance to the Finals/Night show for the public and athletes)NPC Awards will begin at 6pm and IFBB Pro Awards will take place at 7pm. Score sheets and feedback from NPC judges will be available at the end of the show.
Guidelines: All competitors will follow NPC rules, guidelines and mandatory poses. The mandatory poses for Men’s Bodybuilding, Men’s Classic Physique, Women’s Physique, Figure, and Fitness found at www.npcnewsonline.com. See rules/regulations for Men’s Physique & Bikini as well.
Music: NO PROFANITY allowed! (Non-compliance will result in disqualification. You are responsible to preview/censor your music before submitting) Competitors must e-mail posing music as MP3 file limited to 8-10MB to email@example.com by midnight on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Otherwise music will be accepted at Athlete Check-Ins where you will incur a late fee. If no music is submitted following these guidelines then you will be assigned house music. Recorded music must be edited/cued to the right start and end points, and of high clarity. Music may not contain ANY PROFANITY. You are responsible to preview/censor your music before submitting. IFBB/NPC Salt City Showdown/FitCon LLC reserves the right to refuse ANY music not meeting these standards and non-compliance will result in disqualification. All Men’s Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, and Women’s Physique athletes will perform their individual routines at Finals night show, with a max limit of 60 seconds. Please check with DJ at Athlete Check-Ins to ensure that your music has been received and it’s ready to go.

There is a 24-hour fitness center, pool, and complimentary Wi-Fi. We encourage all competitors to book rooms as far in advance as possible as this venue WILL sell out! Definition of a Novice (as defined by NPC Utah) – If an athlete has placed in the Top Ten of any NPC national event, the athlete is no longer considered a Novice. A True Novice is an athlete that has never entered an NPC event. NPC Salt City Showdown will not have “True” novice classes. Please register for Novice if this applies to you.
Please be sure to complete registration for each class in which you plan to compete. Registration Fees are non-refundable, but can be transferred to the 2019 NPC Salt City Showdown in case of emergency.
Backstage access for Trainers & Coaches requires a pass for $75. Those who wish to purchase a backstage pass must also be current member in good standing with NPC. Please take care of both Trainer Passes and NPC memberships for coaches at the Check in meeting if necessary.
Liability Waiver: All competitors will be required to complete and sign a liability waiver in order to compete.
